Lakshadweep is a stunning archipelago off the coast of Kerala that is also really beautiful and quite quiet. On the east coast you can head to Puducherry, formerly Pondicherry, or are the Andaman Islands to relax on the beach.

Tigers are an endangered species but India is working on ensuring that this majestic cat survives. There are more than 30 tiger sanctuaries that are located in different areas of the country. You can take 4 wheel drive safaris, explore the jungle on guided treks, or ride an elephant to search for these elusive animals. You will also get the chance to view wild boars, leopards, deer, wild elephants, large snakes, cranes, peacocks, and many different kinds of arachnids and insects.
Sample the Delicious Food
There are 29 different states in India, and there are many different languages that are spoken throughout the country. The diversity in the culture carries through to the food and you will find completely different food in the south than you do in the north. Ask around to find the best restaurants in the area or just watch the restaurants to see which ones the locals prefer. Biryani is a treat throughout the country and all visitors should try this rice dish.
