Look away now. Seriously. Go research the history of shoelaces or something else equally as engaging. Do anything but scroll down. We’re warning you – these pictures are a slippery slope that ends with you booking an Antarctic cruise.

1. This one’s not so bad.

You did it, didn’t you? You went and scrolled down anyway. Well, at least this picture isn’t too bad. Sure it has some majestic snow-capped mountains with some nice lighting, but you can sort of enjoy the scenery without actually going there, right?

2. Oh man, are those whales?!

Unfair! People love whale-watching. Who wouldn’t want to get this close to these gentle ocean-roaming giants?

3. Seriously, look at how close they get to your boat.

Oh sure, there are rules about people not being allowed to get too close to the wildlife. Unfortunately whales rip up the rulebook and will get as close to visitors as they darned well please. Might as well just start booking a trip right now.

4. So close!

They’re just rubbing our faces in it now.

5. Whales aren’t the only trouble-makers.

A Seal in Antarctic Peninsula

Look who’s getting in on the action. Hey seal, leave these people alone. They don’t want to take an Antarctic cruise. They’d rather chill out in their cubicles, thank you very much.

6. He’s clearly doing this on purpose.

Is anyone buying the idea that this seal isn’t posing? We expect an apology Mister Seal.

7. I don’t think he’s taking us seriously.

We might be waiting a while for that apology.

8. Even more wildlife.

Gentoo penguin – travel to Antartica

Oh yeah, there are penguins in the Antarctic too. Some people think you can find them in the Arctic but nope, you can only find these goofy little tuxedoed birds south of the Equator. That’s cool though, who’d really want one of these guys hopping up on your lap anyway?

9. Be the seal.

This seal is clearly unimpressed with the millions of penguins found in the Antarctic region. He is therefore a good role model that we should all seek to emulate in our daily lives.

10. It’s so clean.

Antartica’s desolate beauty

How is a modern person used to the grit and grime of urban living supposed to survive amongst all of this pristine cleanliness? The transitional shock alone is a good enough reason to not book an Antarctic cruise.

11. It could be dangerous.

Are we even sure that penguins are all that friendly? These guys look like they’re preparing some kind of offensive maneuvers against that ship in the background.

12. Basically evil.

You can see his horde gathering in the background.

13. Stiff payment penalties.

This may look like a picturesque view of passengers out for a leisurely kayak along some pristine Antarctic shores, but what you’re actually seeing is a couple of average folks who had a slight payment snafu. They got kicked off of their cruise ship and this is how they have to get home.

14. Don’t be fooled by appearances.

Again, it’s all about perception. This appears to be people out for a hike across clean unbroken snow, but what you’re really seeing is a complete lack of Starbucks.

15. We did warn you.

You went through all the pictures and now you at least kind of want to go, don’t you? It’s a good thing we didn’t even get into all the activities available on Antarctic cruises, or the history you can visit, or… You know what? We’re stopping this right now.

No more pictures.

You’ll thank us later.
